Now after reading I remember that mine clicks a little after start up, but only for a few seconds. I got my jeep in January so mine must have been built late 2011. Should we mention this to the dealer?

Chrysler has revised the heads twice on the Pentastar. The first letters on the head were AA then AB now they are AC. Anyone that has a build date before September 2012 can expect a head replacement sooner or later and there is no comformation yet that the latest revision has solved the issue. I know many people on the other forums I'm on have had their heads replaced twice and their are also some 2013's that are now in for a head replacement.

My 2012 runs well (build date Feb16, 2012) with 7600kms but I,m not kidding myself, I know at some point I'll be getting the head/s replaced. Sometimes the heads go right away and for some it can take over 40,000kms.

Chrysler definately dropped the ball on the design of this engine, probably rushed through the testing process to get the motor into production as quickly as they could otherwise the head problem should have been caught in pre-production.

i ve read some different things about the left head problems. A Mopar representative said that something like 16 000 heads were involved in a bad casting choice that led to a misfiring cylinder 2

Just hope he s right cause i have a 13 JKU
