Soft top recall
hi All
Been awhile...but that's only because everything in Jeep land has been great...until now.
I've gotten a recall notice for my 2010 JK Mountain Edition. More to the point it is for wear patterns on the soft top at the cross bars. I have looked at my soft top and it seems fine.
What I am worried about is the dealer looking and saying it looks fine...and then next year BLAM...a big rip that is not covered.
Has anyone seen what they are looking for? OR Any tips on how I can get the dealer to honor this recall going forward?
Thanks for any info or input!

they are looking for wear at the front bow that sits over the sound bar on the 4 doors. If there is wear or holes caused by the bow they replace the top and they also add these little plastic discs that attach to the bow to prevent the bow from rubbing through. Pretty half *** fix but I guess it works. I personally think they coul dhave designed somthing a little nicer but you can't really see it I guess anyway.
I bought my Sahara in July 2011, I never knew of this recall, I noticed these little holes as I was about to remove the soft top for winter. I went into the dealer, over 3 weeks ago, after pictures, discusions, I still don't have any repair or replacement plan. The dealer is stating that they have contacted Jeep and are waiting for an answer. It seems that the dealer is going to bat for me but im wondering if its just a smoke show. Time will tell.
They sure don't make it like they did for the tj's and b/4.. I've noticed that these newer tarps well guess its not called a tarp now a days.. looks more like a very light cheapie material... mine is heavy gauge... best of luck on recalls.
I have had same problem... Bought my 2010 JKU from dealer... Who according to work history completed the recall on soft top... They did not install the "guards" to prevent the wear on the top at the pinch points... The dealer says they have ordered the parts... Which includes a new soft top... As there are pin holes in the area of the A bar... Should have parts in soon... And they are replacing... I would keep on them every week... With a friendly touching base kind of attitude.

Have you heard back from your dealer?
If not, send me a PM with your VIN and dealer name so I can look in to this for you.

Have you heard anything back yet in regards to the parts they ordered?
