East Soft Top Rear zipper Teeth Missing/bent/Broken

Hey Guys/Girls

Im in the Halton Region in Ontario and i have an issue on my soft top where the teeth to attach my Rear Window Panel are missing or Broken. It is not on the panel itself but rather on the actual soft top body. Basically this is preventing me from being able to zip up my rear window and when i do get it on i cant get it off without superhuman force.

Does anyone know where to get this fixed cheap? Dealership wont honour warranty because im 5,000km over....I really dont want to rock my hard top all summer.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Tyler

Local car upholstery shop may be able to stitch a new zipper in.. BESTTOP in the USA makes the tops for Jeep, contact them and see if they have a repair kit...

To keep you zipper zipping well... take a wax candle and periodically rub it over the zipper.. you'd be amazed at how this loosens up a hard to move zipper.

Appreciate this tip Mr White.....ill do thise for the other zippers. Unfortunately the zipper in question is already way past this point. The teeth are broken and missing and bent.

Look for a place that works on boat canvases. They work with long zippers or a place that does custom awnings for houses

Is Grimsby too far for you? My husband's rear zipper went, and we had it fixed here in Grimsby at a local upholstery shop. Let me know, and I'll send you the info!

I had my TJ soft top zippers replaced by Kevin & Barry @ Barry's Vehicle Upholstery in Mississauga. Wasn't cheap but still working great and looks factory & way cheaper then new top. They also recommened wiping zipper down with WD-40 every once and a while.

Wee bit confused, Mr White. Candle wax on the zipper. Did you mean the teeth? If not, drip the wax into the zipper?
