Roof Rack?
Does anyone have any experience with transporting a 16' canoe? I have just recently purchased a 2010 unlimited JK Sahara and am looking for ideas. Any advice would be great.
Thanks, |
Re: Roof Rack?
You could try the following site at Quadratec http://www.quadratec.com/products/12028_7010_07.htm. They do ship to canada but you could look at Canadian suppliers.

Re: Roof Rack?
Watch out for UPS shipping. They have great prices till it shows up at the door and they want another 150$ in "brokerage and duties"
Shop canadian if you can but I'd suggest you just get some good strong rope and some foam blocks from crappy tire. I used that on the top of my XJ and on the top of my Ranger and it worked great. |

saw this ,person built it--looks good
I also saw something similar in NFLD this summer at bonivista, looked cool |
Re: Roof Rack?
that looks bad ass. I'm totally ripping off that design and building one for my XJ lol

Re: Roof Rack?
will try and find one more design for you

Re: Roof Rack?
Go to Just Jeeps....you should be able to price a rack there.

Re: Roof Rack?
I've dealt with Just Jeeps before. Was unimpressed by pricing and service but thats just my 2 cents.
Theres also www.national4wd.com www.northridge4x4.ca www.pjf4x4.com www.rockspyder.com All of which you'll need to call to see if they can get it for you and if so a price. PJF is a great company. In southern ontario you may be able to get something built by Staangs Fab. I'm sure he'd give you a great price since it would be a prototype for a new product. |

found the other design parked in bonavista NFLD
I thought this looked cool and usefull |
Re: Roof Rack?
Thanks for the ideas. I was also thinking of the foam blocks but I wasn't sure if the hardtop roof would be able to handle a canoe strapped to it.
I will check out the websites that have been noted. Thanks again. |
