Road Trip with Soft Top. Noisy?
I'm going on a 3000km road trip and wondering if the Soft Top on the highway will be tolerable for this trip? How is the factory soft top on the highway?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've done road trips with the hard and soft top, both are nosier than any other vehicle that I've ever owned. With that being said, it's certainly not intolerable by any stretch. Turn up the music.

Toured to Maine last year to find the northern end of US #1, in the back hills of upstate NY, Vt and NH and down the TransCanada comin' home. No question it's louder but like Disconnect said, just crank the music a little louder. Nothing like road trip with the top down and the wind in your hair (assumption on my part that you don't shave your head, Joe), enjoying the envious looks of the "cages" as you pass them! Would suggest earplugs though if your going for an extended amount of time on the "superhighway" top down though.

Soft top is VERY tolerable, just remember to either unzip and roll up or even better, remove the rear window if you are going to cruise over 60 km/hr using the sunrider option.

It really depends on you. I find it pretty quite compared to the last car I had (had a moon roof and road noise was horrible).
BUT....cross winds with the soft top will push the jeep a little, other than that hwy drive is pretty smooth and quite to me.
I would love to drive 3000km....I just like to drive.

Soft tops on Jeeps are always noisy. My CJ7 was the worst though. On the JK it is noticeable but not intolerable!
I unzip the rear window when I use the Sundowner or go a long way with the window down. I also have window flares and can open the window a bit with little air noise or wind in your face.
