alright, first off i recently bought my first jeep wrangler, its an '07 2 door i love it!!! what im not understanding is why the front seat belts are mounted in defferent locations, the driver seat belt is attached to the floor and the passenger seat belt is attached to the seat.....just kinda bugging me if any one can help that would be great

 

Just a wild guess, they figure the driver shud be more secure mounting it to the floor than his passenger? Or this might make more sense enabling u to remove the passenger seat and not end up with a seat belt mounting to remove too.

 

yeah but wouldnt it make more sense( and make it easier to remove the passenger seat) if it was anchored to the frame..... like the driver? am i the only one with this issue?

 

It may have something to do with the possibility of the option of having a babyseat strapped into the front passenger seat.

I do know that I have had a real pain from the passenger seatbelt always retracting and strangling my girlfriend in the seat. It's been replaced under warranty once already but it still tends to lock up when doing something as simple as leaning over to pick something up off the floor. The only way out of while driving is to unbuckle the belt, move the height adjuster either up or down and the belt will retract. You can then buckle your self up again and everything is OK, until the next time you drop something.

 

They can be a pita imo and I don't believe a person is even allowed to modify them in any way in order to suit your situation. Safety factor you know and gov't regulations. I could be wrong though
