New 2011

Well.....after a lot of contimplating; I finally decided on the 2011 Wrangler. This purchase was for a second vehicle and my budget wasn't very flexible so with the offers currently available from Chrysler; I couldn't refuse. I road tested the vehicle 2 times; to be sure this is what I wanted and let my wife drive once; as she needed some confincing. So on Tuesday I pick it up! Did I make the right decision??? Should I have waited till 2012???Time will tell....What I do know, without discounts; I most likley would have bought a Journey instead as it was more in my price range. So....I think it was the way to go, and after my wife drove it: she was happy too.
Let the fun begin!

Congrats!!! We are still on the fence...wait or not too wait for the 2012 model.
The deals now are sweet, so that might make all the difference.
Enjoy the ride.

Well that's good to know you are happy! Your right on about waiting....So if in 2012 they announce a diesel for 2013???? Than what???? I think I'm going to live for today, and see what that brings.

Re: New 2011

Congrats! I'm envious and hope to join you in the new jeep celebration soon.

I'm in the midst of deciding on a:

2011 4 door Sport (Tow Package, airconditioning, but no p/door locks or p/w, no mileage, and a factory warranty) - $32,000

vs

2008 Sahara 4-door (power door locks,windows, auto start, no tow package, anti-spin (LSD) , mileage: 33,500km) - $25,900

After all the financing and negotiating there is only $3000 separating the two. Both have dual tops. I like them both but the 2011 has the edge despite not having power options or 18" wheels. Wife seems to prefer the new interior. She thinks the seats adjust better. Been wanting a wrangler forever. Hope to join you guys soon.

I'm on the fence too. Wait for 2012 or buy now. Can someone point me to those "deals" going on right now? Are these on the Chrysler web site?

I am going to wait until 2012. I am just too curious to see what the new specs are.

I think to get the best deal, you will need to go to the dealer. I think I did well; based on the MRSP on the sticker.....Seems like the best time to get a 2011.

Re: New 2011

I just got back from dealer and I was shown 2011 4 door Sahara, automatic, power windows, doorlocks, mirrors, heated seats and mirrors, tow package, dual tops, Connectivity Group (satellite radio, uconnect voice command). Sticker Price $34,459

I like the interiors of the 2011s. I should be able to talk down this price a little more.

Hope to be in one soon!

Re: New 2011

Those prices make sense and are a bit similar (if not a bit higher) to what I had got in 2010 when I shopped for a Sahara Unlimited.

Back in May of that year, they were offering 0% financing, are they doing the same at the moment?

@TSmith dare to share with us how much you paid?

BTW, I don't know how much are the sales taxes in other provinces but in Quebec, once you dealt the price of your Jeep, you gotta had 13.925% on the cost...

that spec is pretty much what I have and I love it, I had the MS Sync in my escape so the u connect was a must and its great. The power windows and locks to me are a MUST have. Good luck

Congrats. After being a diehard XJ guy, I just recently, April 15, got my 2011 JK Unlimited Rubicon and I don't regret it one bit. If Feb we got a 2008 JK UNL Rub for my wife so I had to get my own.

Now that the weather's turning enjoy it. Definitely the best ride for summer!!

Yo TSmith...

Congrats! On the Jeep and making a hard decision....so many pro's and con's. But at the end of the day like you said this fit your budget, and no one can argue that. JK or Journey....no brainer...JEEP!

Every year the next model is to be that much better or have bla bla bla...life is short, have the Jeep now and enjoy. In a couple of years, when the new model comes out, buy a second one, a duce Jeep family....there's were we are headed.

It sure does make you think until your head hurts.

Re: New 2011

Getting closer. Drove out 45 km to another dealer and he has a Sahara with most of the options I want except the tow package, which I've learned is basically the receiver and wire harness. (not what I thought a tow package was- no cooling features??) So I'm thinking aftermarket, I can install myself - or would this effect the warranty???

Ok.....I think I got a good deal; but who knows. There is always somebody who does better than me. My brother works for Chrysler, so I got employee discount, if that means anything. Where I think I did well was with my tade in. I had a 2001 Caravan with 205000km. It certainly was not certifable; needing tires, brakes, stabilizer arm bushings and rear wiper motor; with rust comming thru in 3 places. I went to 2 other dealers and got a offer of 500 dollars and 750 dollars.( which I expected) The dealer I bought from; gave me $ 3250.00. Done deal!!! So bottom line out the door, taxes in $29500.00. What I bought: 2011, 4 door Wrangler, automatic, power windows, power door locks, Hard top with soft top, Flame red. Good deal?????

I was going to do the same thing. Good question about warranty.

Welcome to the Jeep crew! I bought a 2011 as well and I will admit that the dealer incentives influenced my decision. I think you will enjoy it; I know I enjoy mine.
