Hi, I was driving to work this morning and the low tire on the driver front wheel is flashing low. Just bought the jeep in July and was wondering if I should put some air in it or do I need to bring it to the dealer ship and have them put in whatever gas is in them now? Also, there is a {!} under the drive indicator when in drive. I assume that's for the low tire?

 

Check the pressure to see if it's low and if it is re-inflate it now. Check around the tyre, there might be a nail or screw in it.

 

tire seemed a few pounds low but nothing I would think would cause it to go into alarm. I don't know how sensitive it is as it is the first vehicle I had with a tire sensor. I was thinking it had something to do with cold as it was -15 this morning.

 

That's exactly what happens to my '08 Sahara when the temperature drops to about -3 or so. Soon as the tires warm up from moving or the air temperature climbs above freezing, then there's no problem.

This is because, I believe, the pressure I keep those BFG All Terrains at, is a few pounds under the manufacturers recommended pressure of 35 psi. I've had problems in the past with these tires that hard on icy asphalt.

 

I left work yesterday and everything was fine. So, I guess I can expect that in cold weather. Thanks for the replies.

 

The tpms on my wk will go off if the pressures drop by four pounds under the recommended pressure.

 

I'm getting an oil change on Friday and the dealership said they'll look at it then.
