One thing you need to consider is if you are towing a 3500 lb trailer, you are almost as heavy as your Jeep. You will not be able to stop that rig very well in an emergency unless you have trailer brakes!
The wieght of that tralier will push you forward in an emergency stop. Especially on a wet or comprimised road surface. Water, snow, pine needles, sand or gravel!
They tell you, you can pull it but they don't tell you, you can stop it!

Well said. Eventhough my trailer only comes in at about 1500lbs, I installed brakes and a Protigy RF brake controller. The controller just plugs into a 12V power outlet letting it be used on any rig with a 7 pin plug. Works awesome and is great peice of mind with the youngins aboard that is a Moosie runs out in the road I will be able to stop. It was my first upgrade when I restored my trailer.

I hauled a trailer that size from Fort McMurray to Whitehorse and back via Edmonton with no problems but you should ensure you have an adequate tranny cooler and equalizer hitch. you also need to be prepared to be passed by nearly everything on the road when pulling a hill.

Not saying you will have a problem towing. The problem is emergency stops. Even your 1500lb trailer is enough to push you in a panic stop!
I mention this because a few years ago when I had my 97' TJ, I was pulling a utility trailer with only about 1200 lbs in it. Damp road as it had rained earlier. Guy ran a red light, I hit the brakes and trailer pushed me through the intersection where I proceeded to smack him. I couldn't stop and even when I tried to turn away the Jeep kept going straight into him even with wheels turned!
My luck he was on probation and he drove away. Damage to my bumper and his bumper but he couldn't get away fast enough.
