Default Jeep JK Diesel Conversion

Anyone heard of this? I have seen a few on the internet, but I think it's something that should have been offered from factory. I know there is a company in the USA that does the conversion for alot of money but only for 2011 and under, just wondering if anyone has any more information on this, or even if anyone else thinks this is a great idea!

Sounds like a reasonably good idea. If you ran it on used french fry oil you could drive down the road looking good and also smelling good.

it just seems like a better idea all around! Bio Diesel is wicked stuff, and theres more power, less fuel used just better over all. Only place i could find that does the conversion is in the USA and it's over 20 grand. I might as well just buy a new jeep for that!

Rumor is that 2015 models will be available in Diesel. Europe has them for few years now.

I heard something similar, but I recently heard they won't offer it until they move off the JK Platform, which was sighted for 2016 but now has been moved to 2018. So that gives me plenty of time to pay off my current to get the latter.

I just think diesel is better in alot of ways, from what I have heard it's superior for offroading. So mix a great motor, with the great mechanics of a Jeep Wrangler and your boss.

Diesel power off road is a different experience. One problem is the weight on the front end, it's also much easier to break stuff without really trying.

HPA Motorsport offeres it for the YJ/TJ but for the JK the only conversion I know of is a 4BT conversion. It's a lot of work and not worth the money you'll spend vs the money you'll save on gas. Better off with a supercharger like Sprintex or other. Was talk for a 2016 diesel but they've been saying that for years. I'll believe it when I can order it. I guess you could import a diesel engine and ECU harness from europe but that would probably be pricey as well.
