Default Hemi 5.7 and 6.1 Wranglers

We are building 2 Wrangler Unlimited's with Hemi engines. The first is a 08 Rubicon and it will have a 5.7 Hemi, 4 inch lift, 37 inch tires, AEV front bumper, and a few other goodies.

The second is a brand new Sahara Ltd. with leather and it will get a 6.1 SRT engine at 420 hp. It will also have a 3 inch lift and 35 inch tires on 20 inch rims.
I thought JK owners would be interested in these builds, so I will try and post some pics as they progress. We are starting next Tues morning on the Rubicon.:)

This is a joint project between Ponoka Chrysler and Northridge 4x4.ca

Here is the Rubicon with 4.5 lift and 37's. The Hemi 5.7 makes it such a fun ride. The 6.1 is getting exhaust right now and will be ready by Thurs night.

We used Hemi conversion kits from aevconversions. They are designed for the JK's and just plug in to the stock harness and everything works. Putting a Hemi in a CJ sounds like a wiring nightmare, but I really am no expert on wiring.

thanks for the link....

when i converted my CJ to an injected 4.0L i was told ,it was a wiring nightmare also .

took me 10 hrs to convert and been happy since !

i have a spare 5.7L laying around .... I might do the conversion one day!

thanks

So, where's the 6.1? Was the conversion as easy as the 5.7? Do AEV have a wiring harness for the 6.1, too? Pictures? Are you allowed any disclosure of a rough pricing for them?

Thanks,
Calin

Because both the motors were used, they had some small challenges like mating the 6.1 to the 545 transmission. They both took about the same amount of time. These are very expensive to build, but there is really not much like them in Canada. They are now both for sale. 61 k for the Rubicon and 63 k for the Sahara.
