Hardtop Storage

Hardtop Storage
This may seem like a common sense question but I ask it to make sure I'm not missing out on anything and to get tips and ideas from owners more experienced then I am.
2014 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited
Garage:
Planning on storing it inside a garage on a couple of 4x4's away from the elements and off the ground.
No Garage:
Up until a few weeks ago a garage wasn't an option. Was going to wrap it up tight in a tarp and store it in a back yard off the ground.
Tips and ideas for both guys ? Ideally one day Id like to fabricate a pully system in my own garage to hold it up but that's not a current option. Anything you guys can add would be helpful ??
Thanks in advance.

Re: Hardtop Storage
Sounds like you,ve got it all figured out already. I used to store my hardtop in the backyard and it made the ideal eco-friendly racoon condo. Then rigged up a pulley system and ratchet straps and hung it off the rafters but its a 2 person job.

Re: Hardtop Storage
Last year I tried hanging my hardtop from 4 ratchet straps mounted to the ceiling of my garage but I didn't feel comfortable with it just hanging over the hood of the Jeep all summer long.
So this year I built a shelf in the same location. Now I just back the Jeep up to it within a few inches of the leading edge, crawl inside with my son and lift it up and back it onto the shelf. I also get the added bonus of storing stuff on the shelf year round and I'm also going to add a tire rack underneath to store my stock rims and tires.
