Default Going Crazy on Lifts (2012 JKU Rubi)

I've got a 2012 Rubi that will be getting a lift courtesy a birthday present. I've got a buddy who can get me into a pretty cheap Pro Comp (#K3085B - Pro Comp Suspension - Stage I Susp. Lift Kit Ref. Custom Truck Accessories).

The problem lies in I'll only get out to the trails once, twice a year and think the lift might be overkill. I don't necessarily want to sacrifice too much of the ride for a lift that won't be regularly used.

For such little off-road use, will that kit compromise the ride too much? What route would you take? I'm looking to go with a look similar to the modded Rubi I attached.

Welcome to the forum... For what you want I strongly suggest the TeraFlex 2.5" BB with shock extensions. This kit will maintain your factory ride for the most part because you are not changing springs and shocks, just lifting it. You can always upgrade shocks and springs later.

I'm looking to do something similar to my 2012 JK . . . 2.5" lift . . . so far I've been told an 'aev' lift is my best option. I'm not doing the work until the summer so I'm still researching. The aev lift is about $1000 (this is with springs and shocks).

I agree with JTPhoto JK's suggestion of the 2.5" BB. Unless you plan to run 35's, this set up works very well on/off road.

You'll be fine with 2.5" and 35s.

I did the AEV 3.5" and 35's. It's a bit pricey, but the result is awesome. Mine is a DD and the improved ride, handling and cornering are amazing. The stance is just right in my opinion.
