Electrical hook up for 2009 wrangler doors
hello,
I have a 2009 wrangler unlimited. i tried to remove the dor the other day and was having some trouble with the ecectrical hook up to release the doors. I have removed the bolts from the hinges but I am wondering how to unclip the electrial hook ups. is there a website that has pics? The wires run through the retaining straps on the front and rear doors to control the windows and locks. Is there a trick to it?
thanks

I had the same issue first time I took my doors off. The electrical connector Jeep uses is very robust, and is locking...Nice...the little red tab.
First time you are really not sure which way is locked or un locked.....they are hidden up under the dash.
Tip...the same connector is used under the hood (off the top of my head drivers side, near the ESP control module), locate one and familarize yourself with it, and note which way the red tab should be for the locked and un-locked position.
Once unlocked, the electrical connector will slide out with a gentle tug.
Good luck...Top Down Doors Off!!

Should be a plug connection about a foot in from the door, should be just up inside the dash. Mine pulled down enough to make it easy. The plug has a tab i think u have to push to undo it. Do the 1 on the passenger side first it seems to be easier to get to on mine anyway. Once u see how it unplugs, then tackle the driver side its a bit harder to get at. I had mine off every nice weekend last year. Once u do it once its easy and only takes a couple of sec to unplug. I haven't had mine off yet this year and forget exactly how to press the tab on the plug. If u have anymore problems i can take a picture of mine if it will help. Think its the same as the one for your rear wiper and defroster for the hardtop.
