2013 Rubicon delays

Re: 2013 Rubicon delays
I ordered the 2011 Sahara that I had... the wait was not pleasant. I've since traded it in on a 2012 Rubicon which I got the dealer to bring it in from another dealer. 2 days of waiting.,. MUCH EASIER TO HANDLE!!
I it makes you feel better... they say good things come to those who wait - especially for Jeeps. OK, I added the last part. Hang in there.

Hopefully GOOD THINGS will come with my Jeep for waiting 5 months for delivery.

Re: 2013 Rubicon delays
Here is my latest update for the 2013 billet Sahara I ordered in August.
Called IAMJEEP customer service and gave them my last 8 characters of VIN: they said that it went into production status on Oct. 29th.... apparently this does not mean it is being built then, but it is being prepared (what ever that means) and I should get it in 6 -8 weeks or so. Which essentially is mid Dec. to early January... pretty sad service. Total of 16-18 weeks.
One good thing has come of this, both my brother and a neighbour friend had been closing in on ordering a jeep and after my experience have wisely gone to another brand and have been given build to deliver times of 4-6 weeks at the lastest. We will just have to go wheeling in different brands..
Too late for me since I have already bought some after market equipment etc...

Re: 2013 Rubicon delays
Hey Mulmur, I did the same mistake and I bought some accessories and now I got stuck with the accessories without having a Jeep.
I'm still waiting for news and info from Jeep Canada.
Lets see how long it's going to take for Jeep Canada to show me that they care for the loyal and repeated customers .

Re: 2013 Rubicon delays
Just to play the devil's advocate, what was so special order on your new jeep that no dealer has one in inventory? Or did you order before the '13's arrived? When I went to the dealership to get my '11 2dr Sahara in Detonator yellow, I was told all the yellow's were built, had to take one from inventory or go to a '12. Went on line and searched clear across Canada but found it. Obvious an online search is not gonna get yours built any faster, but like I said devil's advocate. Hope your jeep makes it for Christmas,
mine arrived Dec 24th and made me merry! lol

They said something about factory closing for some reason.
Hard to believe that they would close down the plant at the beginning of new model year
I order mine mid September . I also send a PM to JeepCAares (previous post) but I'm still waiting for some additional info
I can't believe how of an unpleasant experience my new Jeep order is turning to be.
I'm at the point now that I'm looking for a way out and get something else
Thanks for your support guys.I Hope Santa brings it soon

I have no clue why it would take that long to come.
They told me something about factory closing for some reason.

In my case I ordered mid-August and 'Billet' colour was just about to start so none available at the point of ordering, and I didn't want a 2012 with all the engine head problems.. plus, I really did want to go with this new colour.
My choice would also be to get out of the order and go with another 4-wheeler, however I have paid for a few expensive upgrades to install on the jeep when it finally arrives, so I think I will give it a bit more time. Planning to visit the dealer on Monday to talk all of this over.
According to IAMJEEP in the USA I could be waiting until the end of Dec. which is 18 weeks, which I was told when I talked to them at the end of Oct..
I tried to talk to them again this week for an update, but made the mistake of telling them I was Canadian and they refused to give me any info. as they said it had to come from dealers in Canada. (great service) As well, they warned me that the Canadian customer service info. was poor, but good luck and also the 'phone prompts' would take me a good 5 minutes to get through. They where not kidding as it did take what seemed like forever to talk to someone, and then after all that, they checked there system and could not even find reference to my VIN (which I now have from the dealer) so a waste of time.
We shall see what I find out on Monday.

Re: 2013 Rubicon delays
As an update re: my 2013 Billet Sahara, ordered Aug. 14th....
Spoke to dealer this morning and they said it was built, but still sitting in Ohio... then they phoned me this afternoon to say that it arrived in their lot, unexpected?
So, anyway, after 14 weeks the thing is here.. Can likely pick it up tomorrow or the next day.
On another note, for those interested, the 'Gorilla Guard' wheel security nuts are supposed to be a lot better than the mopar ones and I have noticed on some of the forums that folks are ordering 2 sets (4 in each) as they need 5, including the spare. I spoke to Gorilla today and they said that the jeep takes #61681 and that is for 4, however if you want 5, its #61681B5. I had to convince 'Summit Racing' that they could get 5 as I had to call them as this part number with the B5 added, did not appear on their web site.

I'm glad you are getting your jeep after all this time. Keep me posted how everything else went at the dealer"
