Default 2012 JK Rubicon Coupe

Hi, It seems as though I found the wifes soft spot, the colour Red. After looking at many jeeps online and listening to her comments I stopped by a dealership which had the 2012 JK Rubicon in Flame Red for sale.
Not long after a test drive did we sign the deal and brought it home.

Been awhile since I drove a standard, especially one with 4.10 gears. Most of the time I can get away with starting off in 2nd gear. Its a pleasure to wheel, lots of power in the new pentastar motor.

Lookin fwd to taking some trips with it on the weekends.

Just thought I would say Hi.

I'm sure you meant red jeeps ALMOST run as good a green jeeps. :)
Congrats on the new jeep. The 4.10s with a stick is the perfect combo. One I should have bought since my wife can't drive a standard.

Yup, afterwards she said that I will have to teach her to drive a stick. I tried that once, 20 yrs ago. I guess I will be the only one to drive it.

tuxster,

Congrats on the Rubicon!
A big parking lot and a boat load of patience should do the trick

I was out washing the jeep and thinking of what I would have to do prior to putting it away for the winter. Should I get it rust checked? I did not buy it to run in the winter but really am unsure. My fathers jeep was a 2000 TJ and it rusted out bad, fenders and eventually the frame just past the doors got soft.
What else gets done before putting it to bed? I am already thinking of ordering a cord of wood and its middle of August. The nights have been cool, making me think of winter.

Rust check is a great product that works itself into metal seams etc, where corrosion starts. If you only do a bit of winter driving, even every other year would be ok. That stuff made out of beet juice they spray on the roads in the early fall and late spring is really corrosive. Far more so than road salt is. It's better to put something on to protect against that stuff.

Thx
