Either missing or improperly installed....my 11 at dealer since Tuesday, no tools on steering wheel work....not even horn.

Now they are saying an instrument cluster.....have to order, 7 days.....now have to arm wrestle for alternate transporation, maybe rental !!!!

I am the one who left tops off....but I hope Jeeps arent that sensitive to rain, cant believe they would be if so Chrysler in deep crap!!!

Anyone else had any steering wheel electronics issues????

What was the specific recall and what is the link between rivets and electrical issues and water?

Hope they get your jeep back on the road soon.

The specific recall is "missing or improperly installed steering column rivets".....

I am unsure at this point if there is any relation to my other problems i.e. electrical and water.

The recall was discovered by the dealer, and I just also got a letter today.

The two may be totally unrelated...sorry guess I should have been clearer.....its all a muddle at this point.....and Im facing the long weekend with great weather and no Jeep.....8-((

Hope that clarifies....and I think this instrument cluster that has been ordered is the key to the electrical....they dont recommend I drive it, so its staying at the dealer, inside as the hard top is off....

Keeping my fingers crossed they get the part quickly....

My buddies 2011 2-door Rubicon had a similar issue last month. He had a complete failing on all steering wheel controls. Took it to dealer and they fixed it for him.

Thanks for the feedback......nice to know it probably wasnt the rain that did the damage......Im still waiting for the part....but as long as it gets fixed thats the main thing....

Had similar problem recently; with no radio controls or temp, fuel milage etc....My cruise and horn worked. I disconnected the battery, reconected and everything worked????? I drove to the east coast and back and still works.

Jeep is back all fixed....total replacement of instrument panel cluster...for those of you who know what that is....wasnt a recall item, however waiting on yet another part some kind of foam for leaks...recall on that....documentation doesnt say any more. Glad to have it back....a Honda civic, much as its a great car, does not compare !!!
