2011 JK Wrangler Sport shifting issue
I bought my manual shift JK Sport in July of 2011. Had no shifting issues immediately.
In the fall I changed my transmission fluid to Amsoil SYN trans fluid.
I immediately had shifting issues. I spoke with the Amsoil rep and he had me drain and gave me another [2] bottles to use to replace with. Sent the oil away for inspection and they replied it was the right stuff and no issues with it.
When cold I can feel the Syncros meshing and clicking when I shift and I have to shift very slowly in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears. Once warmed up, much better!
I went on line and found that there was a Service Bulletin on the shifter boot that caused the shifter to jump out of gear and also stiff shifting.
Dealer replaced the boot under warranty.
But I am still having shifting issues and probably going to go back to the Mopar trans fluid soon.
Just wondering if anyone else has had shifting issues and what was done to rectify it?
