WJ Fibreglass Bumpers
Got the call from Emil today, Iceland's bumpers are ready to ship. Going to call him back in the morning and see if it's possible to get a shot of a WJ without the flares posted.

Oh, Those look BAD ***! I'm just not sure I like the idea of fiberglass...Metal is so much easier to work with...
What's the word on pricing vs. having a fab shop build one out of steel? Any idea?
Later.

Re: WJ Fibreglass Bumpers
The fibreglass is 800 all the steel WJ bumpers I've found are 800 - 1000 + shipping so the glass comes out a little cheaper, the big difference is the wieght. 65 lbs compared to 100+ lbs then the winch (mine wieghts 85lbs).
Guy's have been using the glass ZJ bumpers for well over a year now and even after bashing them off the rocks at Moab nobody has broken one yet. The glass will flex and you end up scraping the paint off and if you do gouge it you can fill it with resin and paint it.
I was a little skeptical at first until one of the guy's at mallcrawlin posted up the pics of when he dropped the front of his ZJ into a crack and the bumper took the whole wieght of it and all he did damage wise was a couple 1" wide x 1/16" deep gouges.

Or if that price included the flares! Then it'd be a sweet deal...

Re: WJ Fibreglass Bumpers
The flares are still 500US which I still think is outrageous but then again I've personally never liked the look with them on.
The OP of the bumper had links up at jeepforum and jeepsunlimited so that might have been it.
I wish these guy's would start using the wasted space like the bumper ends under the headlights. Would be a good place to store TRE's, U-joints, shackles, etc. goldensd from jeepforum is making a really nice rear storage bumper for his ZJ and I've been talking to Bryant from KOR about one for the WJ. He's making f/r's for his right now and is looking into how hard it would be to make. The curve in the rear end really throws things off for fabbing them up and not having them become to large/ bulky.
