You'll need a 4 pin trailer harness that you can get from somewhere like Canadian tire. I'd highly suggest taking the time to solder the connections and use heat shrink over top of them and then get some wire loom to cover all of that to make it look nice and neat. All of which you will be at Canadian or even Princess Auto.

Thanks folks.
Going to attatch a 4flat onto the cables, and worry about whatever trailer end is on it when i see the trailer.

My confusion was because in Ireland EVERY trailer has a 7-male, and every car/SUV has a 7female

The end that you want to attach to your Jeep is the one that has 1 single pin exposed. That would be the white wire which is the ground. On the trailer side you'll have 3 pins exposed and the ground will be protected.

Hope this helps.

Most trailers will be wired the same. The only exception would be if someone built a trailer and put the incorrect end on it or they changed the connectors on their trailer and tow vehicle and put the wrong end on.

So the trailer end will be a 4-flat? or the 6-round?

Most will be the 4 pin flat. The exception is when they have some type of brake system you could have a 5 pin flat or 7 pin round.
