Tire Pressure
What tire pressure you guys running.
I have a stock 99 WJ with the 245/70/16. City driving mostly some hwy.
The door jam sticker says 33psi while the maximum press on the tire says 44psi.
Whats the best way to go, in the middle say 40psi?
The tires are a year old and not wearing funny due to overinflation.
Thank You for your input.

Re: Tire Pressure
Follow the recommended pressure on the vehicle.
Or if you want to find optimal pressure very precisely, draw a chalk line across the tread, then roll the vehicle and adjust pressure until the line wears off all the way across the tread evenly...but that's probably a little more precision then what a daily driver requires under normal circumstances...

Re: Tire Pressure
Thanks wjc thats a knew one for me, will try it. I did the old run though a puddle and then unto dry ground and look at how much of the threads are touching the ground and regulate the pressure from there. Yours probably simpler.
Running 33x12.5r15 at 28-29 psi been advised I should run 26, thinking thats a little low.
