Superchip for 96 ZJ

Superchip for 96 ZJ
I have a 96 GClimited 5.2L. I can't seem to find any info on super chip programmers prior to 98.
Questions...
Do they work for fuel less than 91 octane?
Will I actually increase mileage by altering stock settings? Obviously important now days.
I know that when I increase HP there won't be any savings at the pump.
If anyone has a superchip programmer let me know if they are worth the investment.

Just found out from Superchips that there is no programmer made for the ZJ only started with the WJ in 98. Guess I'll continue to listen to the growl of the 5.2L the way it is!
