Canada Rusty Window sills 04 GC

Does anyone know how to replace the sil at the bottom of all the windows ? The piece that rusts all to hell. The dealer wants 70 bucks for each piece. Redicoulous considering it seems to be a major problem on all their vehicles. Where can I get replacement parts for it ?

I am not sure about that ? Would it be covered under the rust warranty ? Does it not have to be perforated ?

Hi Bane,
Not exactly sure what part your talking about, is it possible for you to post a pic of it? Might be able to help more.

Sure at the base of the windows .. outside. there is a black bar that sits on the door frame and it always gets rusty .. It looks all bubbled at the ends

If you mean the door skin itself is starting to rust then that should be covered under warranty. I'd check with the dealership or Chrysler Canada.

That's weird, the piece you have circled is rubber/ hard plastic on my 04.

Hiya,
What Bane's ride is suffering from is the rusting of the metal UNDER the rubber/plastic NOT the door skin itself BUT the metal support frame for the moulding). My '00 is in the same shape-bubbling and rusting causing the rubber overlay to bulge. Maybe they don't use tons of salt on the roads in Ft. McMurray but maybe where Bane is (and his profile only says Canada) they do.
Peter.

Very true Peter, they use something that has a pink colour to it now not sure what it is.

Bane I've got a FSM for the 04's so if you want to PM me i can let you know how to remove it. I tried to copy it here but adobe won't let me. Maybe if your's isn't in to bad of shape you can clean it up and rockguard it to seal it in better or something like that.
