Default Radiator Hose

Hi folks,

I burst my rad hose this evening, picked replacement up already.

Is it just as simple as it looks:
Hose clips and clips off, new hose on, clips back on.

I am going to fill with coolant, run for 10mins with cap off to see if it drains,

is that all??

thanks folks....

Turn the heater to maximum heat when you run it. Other than that, that's about all there is to it.

Sounds like you might need a new thermostat.

Big improvement from last nite:

I re-filled rad & resevoir, let her run, put cap back on, was circling my block, temp gauge went max, was about to abandon when hot air went through the window de-mister and the temp needle went normal. i went for a 5km drive, beeped for low coolant, re-filled, went for another 5km drive, beep again so refilled again.

Parked up for the night. This morning I drove Mrs cor-32 to work (12kms) and all fine.

thanks for all the advice folks....

When you work on the rads in the Jeep you let the temp come to normal and then shut it off, it will then suck the overflow tank down. Refill the tank and repeat. Letting the temp guage max out can toast the head gasket and valve cover gasket.

Good to hear, hopefully the valve cover won't start leaking on you. What year/ model is your GC?

The cap might leak? would that just be a pick up at the junk yard?

I have '99 Grand Cherokee, V8, 4.7l AWD
