Canada Quadra Trac II TC fluid

I called my local Dealer and gave the the last 9 digits of my VIN#.
Was told that on my 99 JGC with QT II that Dex III or ATF 4 was the fluid to use.
I assume that it's a NV247, is this the correct fluid? or Mopar TC fluid?
Any parts guys out there?
Thanks

ATF +4, Mopar's stuff is available in most wal-marts for crying out loud... so no reason not to use it. most times its the least expensive... i've gone thru Castrol, Quaker State, Mopar and cant tell any difference what so ever driving down the road...

If you have a NV 247 and put ATF+4 in it you'll be buying a new transfer case in a couple of blocks. The 247 uses a different hydraulic fluid available through the dealer.
Check out WJJeeps.com - Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ 1999-2004 for info.
If you have put ATF+4 in there get it out right away!!

Got the right fliud now from dealer.
$15.00 a pint, must be made from Gold or Platinum.
They had no idea when i showed the TSB 21-09-99 that said that 247 fluid should be used.
Thier system still said ATF+4

If you got that response from a Dodge/ Jeep dealer do yourself a favor and never take it there for any work. Putting in ATF+4 would have destroyed the viscous coupling and it would have cost you about 800.00 for the coupling. If the case would have gone with it you would have been looking at a couple of grand.

Thanks Guys.
I took it there for service once, they told me i had no heat because the heatercore was plugged. Then went to a rad shop and had the system flushed and was told the core was fine and the anitfreeze was too strong. Great heat since.
I have slowly bought bits and pieces from the parts guys and they have always been bang on.
Just shows you what bad information can do.
Anyways being changed today. If my transfer case is toast then i'll have to suck it up.
Thanks again.

Amsoil make a great Diff Lube (and other lubes as well).

You can do a search my year of Vehicle and model and it will list the required Fluids/Filters/Wipers and the fill capacities

If you PM me I can get you better pricing too

Here is the link for doing the vehicle search

All I run in my Jeep is Amsoil, engine, trans, diffs, power steering, except the T/C. I haven't found anyone that is running their oil in a 247 yet and I don't want to be the guinea pig for it myself. A little to expensive if it doesn't do the job properly.
