Default P 0108

Hi,
My Cheque engine light goes on and off since 2 month. When I turn on the ignition three times it says P0108.But the truck runs allways perfect.
So I think it is about the Map sensor?Should I replace it?
As I said- I don,t have any problems, it runs really good.
Thanks,
Norbert

According to my book, 108 is map sensor circuit high input. That don't tell me too much that makes much sense. Check the electrical connections and all the vacuum hoses carefully. Don't start throwing parts at it in hopes it will fix it. If you have a known good spare you can try, that's a difference story. Might also want to check your air filter.

yeah i would check the map sensor, its on the throttle body of the 99-04's, a small hose goes from the base of the Throttle Body to the sensor... i had issues with the wire on my 04 being kinked so bad i had to replace a small section at the plug end...

turbolazi,

Did you have a chance to check the sensor?
Might just be a bad sensor if you aren't seeing any symptoms of this. Keep us posted if you can.

So, I bought a new Map-sensor, put it in and everything runs perfect. Thanks again, guys.
But I have another question: I like to get my Tranny flashed to 5 speed. It is written on wikipedia that this is possible. But I asked 3 different dealers in my area, and nobody ever heart of that.
So, I,m from Blind Bay, BC.Does anybody know someone in my area that can flash a tranny?
Have all a nice weekend,
Norbert

Good to hear!

Dealers probably have forgot already, you need to remind them what your talking about and i think its TSB 18-025-01

your jeep is a 99 Grand Correct...
if it hasn't been completed already you should be good to go now...

I got another Granny now.It is a 2000.
I think my 1999 was already flashed before.Fact is the 99 has arround 200 Rp[m less than my 2000.
As I said, very dealer I saked refuses to do that.

Its not a very big job, and theres no special tools (other than their DRBIII and MDS2 scan tool) so just say seriously you dont like my money, and that you'll go somewhere else, find out what dealer they compete with... say they'll do it but you dont want to drive over there since its supposed to be an quick and easy update...
