I agree a Wrangler isn't a good long distance vehicle. But if you plan to do some off roading once you get there. I don't see an issue with using it.

We use jeeps to get to our sugar cane fields in phillipines, seeing the toughness of jeeps made me fall inlove with the jeeps. I am thinking of getting a 2012 or 2013 jeep wrangler Sahara hard tops, auto transmission. And I will be putting lifts and a bigger tires on it. And I read that if you put a bigger tires than it comes with it will effect the gas Milages of the vehicles. Also I'm concern about over heating since ill be driving that long. And shortining the life of the vehicle with driving for that long constantly. Cuz I heard that new jeeps breaks down a lot now adays.

If your planning to put in a lift kit you might be better off going with the lower end model like I did. (still waiting..) But i got the Sport S Model, with Power Options, Hard Top and upgraded the audio (free satilite radio) and i saved a ton of money compared to getting the sahara model. There are a few small things the sahara has over the sport, but major is the suspension. Sport is using hydraulic while the Sahara is using the Gas Shocks, but if your going to lift it your going to replace the shocks right? So might as well save a few thousand in my opinion that what I did anyways (if your going to put bigger tires on make sure you order the 3.73 rear axle, you will need it if your going to run bigger tires)

Reliability isn't garenteed because I have heard a few issues, but I havn't ever heard of them "breaking down" just things breaking on them and things not functioning properly. Valves and transmissions etc. But i haven't heard of anything actually leaving anyone stranded but it also changes from year to year, so the issues of last year won't be the issues of this year. Your best bet is to get the newest to try and stay ahead of that curve.

Yes I will be replacing the shocks and all that and putting big tires.

then your better off with going with what I did, it's cheaper in the end you save alot of money. If you were going to go with the Rubicon then thats a different story, it has better front axle and I believe a rear locker also. The Sahara and the Sport S are petty much the same minute the shocks. BUT.. make sure you get the 3.73 Rear Axle Ratio if your going to get bigger tires your going to need it or you'll loose power and it won't be fun.

Soo I'm going to be financing my jeep, and this is my first time doing it through a dealership, got any tips for me on how should I deal with the sales person? Cuz I heard from some people (from first time car buyers) they got rip off by the sales person cuz they got suck in to paying more money in thier jeeps.

I did the same thing, i have a finance also. If you were in the GTA Area I could point you towards someone I know and trust who will make sure everything is laid out in black and white.

Best tip I can give you (i've done this twice now) is just make sure there giving you the monthly price with all the taxes and extras. Some dealerships will only give you the monthly of the MMRSP or they will leave out some details, ask them for a print out of the options with there prices. Compair models and options, ask alot of questions about options what do they mean? What do they include? Whats the warranty cover? Then once you finish the sale, they will ask you if you want to extend your warranty to 7 years. If your going to be modifying it, then don't get it because you will void most of it with addons. Ask them about that.

Don't ever sign on the line the 1st day, especilly if your buying new. Only buy off the lot if your completly satisfyied with the vehicle because otherwise you will be dissapointed further down the road. Test drive different vehicles on there lot (different models of wranglers, 2 door 4 door hard top soft top etc) everytime you come back to reassess the deal. 2nd visit if all your ducks are in a row and you trust the dealer then go for it, if there pushy then back out go somwhere else for sure because there rushing you. Make sure everything is 100% you understand the dotted line.

Thanks for the info about financing, where is GTA btw? Yes I know some people that got rip off cuz the sales man were pushy and didn't tell them what discount they can get such as incentive and manufacturer discount.

GTA is the greater toronto area. Ontario pretty much. Chrysler has alot of really great discounts, my dealer said that i get a 2000$ discount because that was the february discount, but he said because i did the paperwork in february it won't be finalized until march when i get it, he said if theres a better deal during march i can take that instead or stick with the standard 2000$.

So theres little tricks and whatnot you can get from a good dealer, there even giving us the option to give extra $ before the jeep actually arrives to reduce our monthlys on our finance. So i am going to get my tax return and a few extra hundred and they will work everything out so it works out perfect. They did a really good job by me as far as i am concerned.

I agree with what Auto Junkie said. Don't let them intimidate you....I know its easier said that done.

If you were to get a pre-approved loan first then you will have an advantage to negotiate the price. But if you go pre-approved way then your credit will be checked which will bring your credit score down a bit (we should leave that for another day). So just go to one place to get a loan.....but dealerships are less picky when it comes to loans. There is so much to say so if you ask more specific questions I will try to answer.

I am not an expert in anyway but having gone through the first brand new car purchase (6 mos ago) I thought I handled it well. OR at least thats what they made me think....lol
