Man, I like those new Grands! Very nice!
I bought one of the original 93' Grands. Nice Jeep but drank too much!
I think the new ones are a lot better.

Welcome and remeber 'Jeep - The Orignal 4 Letter Word'

Yes these things are not bad especially on the highway. It also depends on how hard you push it.

Thanks I appreciate the warm welcome.

But originally Jeep wasn't a 4 letter word....it was actually a 2 letter word.....

Jeep word has a bit of history behind it.....a vehicle that could take the troops on all terrains was built specifically for the military.....it was then called "General Purpose" vehicle....short name GP.

After the war the same vehicle was made available to the public and then from GP, it started its name Jeep.

You are partially correct.

The actual word 'Jeep' is a 4 letter word. Although the vehicle started as 'GP', the vehicle name was changed during WWII.
*****'s was first to use the term 'Jeep' in one of their production vehicles.

'in a 1941 Army manual it refers "GP" as Government 80" wheel base car (Jeep). Before then in 1936, the term 'Jeep' was it introduced to the world by a Popeye comic strip character, "Eugene the Jeep". The only words Eugene could say were "Jeep, Jeep", and "GP" then became "Jeep".
Then the "****** Quarter-Ton Jeep was 1st used by the U.S. military in WWII. When the WWII Jeep was issued during wartime, the term "Jeep" was here to stay'

What makes you think you want a Jeep?
I have a 2011 Wrangler Sport. I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere.

But that being said, for that amount of miles in a repeatable situation, I would consider something with better gas mileage.
Some of the newer non sporty Jeep models are better but doubt any can get in the 5 - 7 km/ltr range.
That's what I would be looking for to do that trip constantly.
