Default New Jeep Owner

Just bought a 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee yesterday and so far am very happy with it. I have one question though. The ac works which is great and when I test drove it was hot so the ac was on. On my way home yesterday it was cool and rainy and when I turned the heat up it never got hot. Or warm for that matter. Is that a common issue and is there a quick fix??

Welcome to the forum, 2 questions. Do you have dual climate control and is the air coming out of all the vents?

Thanks. Yes it has dual zone and the air coming out is cold.

Try changing the vent settings, see if it will switch between windshield, vents, floor, recirculate. If it doesn't then you have an issue with the blend doors which if you want it fixed properly is going to be expensive to fix.
If it is only blowing on the floor check your cruise control and see if that is working or not, if not you have a broken vacumn hose. Probably under the battery.

It does switch from windshield, floor and vent etc. Havn't tried the cruise yet but hopeing its a vacuum leak rather than the blend doors. Thanks for the help. Will post again if once its resolved or still need help.

Well that's a good sign at least. Hopefully it's just the vac line and you'll get your heat back.

Update on the heat. Its only the drivers side that doesn't have heat. The passenger blows hot air.

You'll have to find out if the drivers blend door is moving or not.

Well the door isn't moving. Pulled the motor off and it just spins. So I gotta ask, the quick way or the proper way. Seen a few kits on ebay where you go through the glove box. Or the proper way where you take off the dash.

The kit that let's you go through the glovebox is less time consuming and does the same job. 4-5 hours compared to 12-14 hours, I'd be going through the glovebox myself.
