Canada Jeep WJ LIft Kits

I was wondering if any one out there has put a 4" zone lift kit, or a rough country 4" lift kit on your Jeep wj. I want to put one on my 2000 Jeep grand cherokee Ltd. The problem is that both companies state that if your jeep wj is an all wheel drive model with the front drive shaft being the cv style there may b a problem with vibration.

So has anyone put one of these kits on there jeep with the cv style front drive shaft? If so have you had any issues with vibration, or binding with the front drive shaft? Help on this topic would b greatly appreciated.

i would also like to know, but thinking , the cv style driveshaft would improve the ride when lifted because of the angles are able to be greater and the wobble would be canceled..

Yeah, I know what u r saying about the angles you think it would make sense with the cv style front drive shafts to take the angles. However, Rough country, And Zone off road state it might b a problem with the quadra drives. I need to find out b4 I fork out the cash, install, and then find out it is a problem.

Apparently is not a problem with the transfer case that you can switch between 2wd, and 4wd. This is according 2 rough country.

According to some of the guys on the jeepforum.com....if you have a rzeppa/rzeppa style front drive shaft, you'll need to switch to a double cardon style u-joint on for lifts above 3". I'm at about +3" right now with up country springs and a 2" BB spacer and my front ds (rzpeppa/rzeppa) seems fine, but its still brand new.

Give it time, once you over extend the rezzepa or decide to go on a long highway drive it will leave you high and dry. Change it out as soon as you can, I know from experience.

Your driveshaft will go boom if you have the repezza repezza...it will only be a matter of time at 4'' of lift. I put the 4'' from IRO on mine and ordered a single-double driveshaft from tom wood. You could also have a look at your local junkyard maybe youll be able to find one on a grand cherokee because some of them came stock with the double cardan.

I've got a 97 GC, was off roading on the weekend and the CV drive shaft packed it in, of course at a bad place, not sure if it broke because of wear and tear or because of off roaring, CV joints just don't cut it. I'm ordering a 4" Rough Country lift and have a new drive shaft on order as well. It's a double cardon at transfer case end and single joint at transfer case with telescopic centre shaft.

The problem with these driveshafts is the ball and socket at the T/C, it has a very limited range and the ball ends up tearing the sides of the socket out if you overflex it.
