Idle
The other day I hosed the engine to clean it and later went to start it and the idle was uo around 2200 rpm, after i shut it off and hours later started it again and it would idle at about 1900 and go back to 2200, after several tries it has finally got down to about 1100 or so. Has anybody had this happen just because of some water.
Might have sucked a bit of water in but after a few more starts it should be ok. The computer probably picked it up as a misfire in 1 or 2 cylinders and was trying to compansate for it.
Any ideas where it might have got sucked in? I try to keep the water away from the obvious but just hope that going thru a large puddle doesn't cause the same reaction. Thanks for all the info, so far this seems to be a great site.
i would check the vacuum lines and the air intake system for cracks in any of the hoses...
i was cleaning out some leaves from my fender when i broke my MAP sensors hose, it put the RPM's up quite a bit and made it idle rough until ya get on the skinny pedal for a bit... so id look into thoses areas
