Dana 35 or 44
Hey
Stupid question I know, but can anyone tell me what the 1997 4.0L Grand Cherokee Laredo 4X4 came with, the Dana 35 or 44.
I need to get a new pinion seal and they say there are 2 different sizes.
Thanks

Thanks for the great pic. I do indeed have a Dana 35 as I suspected. Got the drive shaft off but the Pinion nut is a hard go. Went and bought a chain wrench and some penetrating oil. Also bought a new nut. I will have a go at it in the morning.

Re: Dana 35 or 44
yeah its quite a pain, penetrating oil is your best friend... and if you have an impact wrench, hold the yoke as tight as you can, brace it against the ground using a cheater bar so theres no play in it at all... and let the impact rip... that thing is on there with alot of torque, so its going to be a bitch to get it off...
then your home free... well sorta lol
