charge meter
When it's damp or raining the meter drops to 0, if I re-start the Jeep it comes back, the meter always starts between 0 and half way then gradually moves up to normal position, if I bring up the revs it goes down very slowly and stops and starts to come back up when it returns to idle. If I overload the electrical by putting on the wipers, rear defrost and headlights in a short period the battery warning light comes on, it starts to beep and the needle drops to 0, again if I do a restart the meter comes back on, might have to do several restarts then it's fine, up until lately when I could be driving for an hour and again the needle drops to 0. Anybody have this same experience or thoughts as to why this is happening. Again it only happens when it's damp or raining and cold.

Re: charge meter
haven't checked the alternator but when the meter drops to 0 I've driven it for at least an hour with heater, lights, wipers, radio on and the battery seems to be charging, never a problem with Battery. It's maybe a year or year and a half old Optima. Checked Bat. cables, Alt. cables. Have seen on other places that the connectors to the PCM are some times suspect so will check those connections when I get a chance. As I mentioned before it seemed to be weather related but has gotten worse, judging by some electrical problems others have had with these GC's I might be lucky with only this problem. Thanks for the reply.
