2008.5 3.0l
Hello guys,
I'm new to the forum, I actually found a link to the site on canadiandriver.com while doing research on the 3.0 CRD.
Me and the wife are in the market for an SUV. The Grand Cherokee CRD looks interesting for the following reasons:
We do lots of milage, so going diesel makes sense.
I want something with towing capacity.
We need something with room.
I've owed gas SUVs before and driven all kinds of diesels, from fork lifts to Frieghtliners.
The few questions I have are:
Being here in Montreal, the winters are brutal. How well does the CRD start? On the days where my wife goes into town and the Jeep will be parked outside all day in -20 weather with no plug around, will there be any starting issues?
Two, are there any realiability issues with the truck overall? It's hard to find info on the Jeep CRD, so far I've read good things.
For now, those are the only questions I have. I have searched the forum to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.
John

Re: 2008.5 3.0l
Been searching the net, seems to be no cold weather starting issues when not plugged in. The only people that had issues also had bad batteries.
Might look into getting a CRD GC in the spring. Not completly sold yet as 2008s are still selling for over 30K!

Morning John,
WELCOME. Can't comment on your specific questions other than you say you've driven other SUV's before. WELL!!!! My biased opinion is that there are SUV's and there are JEEPS! NO contest.
I do a fair # of highway miles in Muriel and she's quite comfortable. Our boat has twin diesels so I can appreciate your desire for one (fuel efficiency, torque, longevity etc.).
If I won ANY car in a lottery, I'd immediatly sell it and buy a Jeep. Did I mention I'm biased? hahahaha
