2007 v6 runs a tad rough!
Hello, first post on this forum.
I bought a used 07 laredo 4X4 in November with only 52K km on it and since then I have had the transmission console replaced, replaced the transmission lines which were leaking, had the fuel tank flushed, injectors cleaned at the dealer, new plugs, and the computer flashed. I can not see where the exhaust is leaking, but see water dripping underneath somewhere on cold days when i warm it up. Is this a normal for these beasts? My GM vehicles and Hondas did not do this.
It still runs a little rough, but does not throw codes. It now has 60K on it, is there anything else with these motors that I should be telling the dealer to look at? If it is not throwing a code, the dealers are pretty useless, it seems...
I was thinking some stupid 02 sensor or something may be the ticket. I could go to a performance shop and get it chipped, that might improve the dismal fuel mileage...
Thanks!

Exhaust systems are equipped with drains (small holes) in the muffler and sometimes other low points, could be the water you are seeing. Also could be condensation from the A/C, on newer vehicles it almost runs all the time.
Depending on what you previously drove the vibes may be normal. Domestic 6's aren't famous for being smooth. If it was misfiring it should pop a code.
I am not familiar with this vehicle but it seems big for a 6 cyl. I find v6's are usually a waste of money. They don't have enough grunt to move the vehicle adequately. The owner usually ends up losing in the end in fuel economy and power. You have to have the thing to the floor all the time just to move along.
Good luck with your beast. I bought an 06 cuz I hate V6's. I got the 4.0L. Inline is the best way to go. Also I have seen a few jeeps locally with over 500,000km on them- original motor, let's see a 6 do that!

My last car was an Olds Alero with a 3400 V6, and it was much smoother, had service interval of 160K instead of 50K for this Chrysler product. Before that I had an inline 4 Honda that I could rev the snot out of and I did not know it was running when parked and inside of it.
I was scared off the v8 since one of my neighbours, who has a BMW z4, did not register his Grand Cherokee for an entire year because it "cost too much to keep fuel in." I do not tow, and I do not fill it full of children, so the v6 should keep it on the road. Power is anemic compared to the Alero, but I was expecting that.
It is not throwing codes, it did do one at the beginning, and was acting like it was a paint mixer throwing off metal parts, but since they changed the plugs and did the flushes at 55K, that problem went away, I am just not used to the vibes from the motor at stop lights.
I figured the drips were water, which seems to be a lot, and also in -30 so I doubt if the AC was on at that point.
Thanks for the reply.
