Putting it together

Putting it together
I have a '76 CJ that was near completion many years ago. It was a frame off rebuild with a 258 motor, 33" tires, body lift, TH400, Quadratrac, and fibreglas tub and fenders. I was never thrilled with the transfer case, standard brakes and standard steering.
Recently, I have resurrected the project and purchased an '84 CJ for parts and I want to use the wider axles, the Dana 300 with T-5 tranny, power steering and power brakes that came with it. What problems will I run into? Are the frames the same? Will the power steering/ brakes fit into the '76? I would prefer to go without the computer. The '76 has none. The spark box which is known to be a PITA is already swapped out for a 3 wire ignition from an old Chevy 250. I would also prefer re-arched springs for a 2" lift and a 1" body lift. Will I need a dropped Pitman arm? Should I stay with the TH400 and get an adapter for the Dana 300? What's do-able? What am I missing?
And finally (big breath), what's the deal with a GM fan motor? CJs have been notorious for poor heat. Is this the fix?

Re: Putting it together
geese just noticed the date you posted .....ive been away for a while lolll
so easy to do your project
everything will fit ...... observe and play !
the T 5 will be the poor part of your combo ......that tranny is not built for torque use it gently ......I went the AX-15 route , but lots of things to miodify to do so unless you go adapter .....
all the rest is easy !
