Can anybody tell me what a failing power steering resevoir sounds like? I think mine may be out.

Also, what would make a high pitch squeeling noise which seems to get worse as I build up speed. Just started! It seems to be coming from the driver side. I cannot find it and the belt and all pulleys have been replaced and or lubed.

 

When the belt is going round do you notice if everything is turning? Like its possible the power steering pulley may not be turning or may be going to slow (seizing up). This could be the squeaking noise even if you have a new belt and its not saying that a pulley has not been at fault. Let us know.

 

Hi, I saw your question.........first time hear on the forum.

I had the exact same problem, and thought that it was the power steering pump as well.
But it was my ALTERNATOR. When the bearings in your alternator go, they squeal like crazy. plus, I had to keep charging up my battery on the charger once a week, so if your battery is constantly being drained, thats also a sign.

Now this was my own specific situation that I was able to resolve with a new one, so I'm not sure if this will help your situation. Just thought I'd give you an idea what it could be.
