Default High Idle_2 barrel carberator

I recently replaced the original check valve on my 1985 CJ7 (258 I6 w/ 2 barrel Carter) and the idle is now extremely high and wiill not decrease when it warms up.
Can anybody advise me on how to adjust this issue without creatring poor performance on my car?
Other than this issue, the Jeep runs awesome. Real smooth and strong.

Check your EGR Valve for movement. If its stuck, your engine will keep running on high idle even after you have warmed up the engine, also check along the vacuum hose that goes to it.

Hope this might help.
