Hello all I'm an Australian Jeep Enthusiast re-locating to Ontario though I like the large full sized station wagons my favourite Jeep is the CJ5 preferably 81 inch wheelbase.
So my question is how do I [ after I arrive & settle in ie second day!} find an old CJ5 to start playing with?, I'm a capable mechanic\panel beater\electrical person so the practical side of things dont worry me much.
My idea is for 81 inch CJ5 with spring over \ 400cui chev V8 \ TH350 box \ maybe Ford 9 inch axles back n front, OK thats only a very basic outline but gives a fair idea of what I want to do.
Clearly I do not need a clean runner, that'd be a waste as my proposed changes will leave only the body\chassis of the original machine therefore I'd like some clues as to avaliability of body\chassis preferably rolling & suitable as the base for my project, like I say I am quite capable in matters mechanical & also have many years of working in automotive new\used parts sales behind me, what I need are clues to finding wrecked\abandoned\non running 81 [or 84} inch CJ5 Jeeps suitable for my project & - - - well over to everyone any\all advise welcome Peter C Trevanna.

hope youll find one .....

definitely will have problem with the vibration induced by the spring over suspension .

81 inches mean that youll have about 8 inches of drive shaft .....
