Default trans cooler

Hi, I am installing a high efficiency tranny cooler , can I bypass the rad cooler altogether ( outside temp does not get colder than - 5'C ) and its not my DD. This way tranny will run cooler, not being heated by eng' coolant and eng' will run cooler on hot days also . Thanks

You definitely can bypass the cooler, but in reality, the only time that you'll benefit from it is in towing situations...

basically disconnect the lines from the radiator, run them to your new cooler... I would also go as far as installing plugs on the rad, in case a leak were to form... I had to repair a XJ that had a leaking tranny cooler into the rad... although i've only seen it happen once...
