leaking t case
just crawled under the heep and noticed that I am leaking from the transfer case at the rear from the yoke of the driveshaft, when i had the 4.5 lift installed they droped the transfer case but should i have installed a sye and is this what is causeing the leak or could it just be a worn out seal it had been sitting for 2 years?

Re: leaking t case
Mike,
Just had the same seal replaced on Muriel 249 TC. 10 years old, 130K and was leaking. Seals both wear and dry out and crack. Don't know if your drop is contributing to your leak. Not a big job to change. Seal was about $40.
Peter.

Re: leaking t case
Its a toss up on weather you'll need a SYE or not. Like above mentioned chk the angle. If this was just done by PJF I don't understand why they didn't suggest the SYE be put on when they did your lift. 4" I would say is max for a TJ.. for an XJ you might be still okay. Might get more opinions from other XJ owners on here.

Re: leaking t case
Dan has been taking care of me over at PJF nice guy knows what he is talking about, i told him need to do whatever to get it going and keep it safe will have my oldest daughter on runs with me later son then youngest daughter, i will ask him if he thinks that the 4.5 should have had the sye, need this rig to last me at least a year wihout any more major money going into it, if anyone out there thinks I should have the sye in to avoid issues let me know it would be appreciated.
