Couple questions
Ok I have a couple questions My 1990 4.0L cranks and fires no problem everymorning but what i'm curious is how shorten the cranking time because i've put a remote starter in and it doesn't fire soon enough for it to catch the first time it attempts to start but the second attempt it starts fine. What can I do tto makeit catch faster so it doesn't need as long of a crank time. And Question two i've been talking to some mechanics I know about different options on power gain and want to know some opinions and what is best for over all power for dollar spent. I want to rebuild my engine so would a rebuild kit and turbo kit be better to do rather than a stroker kit? I've been told that both will rebuild it but the stroker will only gain me 1.6 of a litre as to where a turbo will give me much more power any opinions and thoughts and suggestions would be great... Thanks
It all depends on how you use it, if your a crawler, the stroker kit is going to be all around best solution vs. turbo... stroker easier to see gains in low - high end torque, ofcourse the same can be achieved with the turbo but is a pain setting the wastegate and blowoff valve, but if you have it set up for power at lower RPM's you wont see much gain at higher rpms...
but you can see big power gains mid to high RPM's
As far as getting it to fire up faster, i've put in some Bosch Platinum 2 plugs and it turned over in nearly half the amount of time... check the distributor and coil and see what kind of condition they are in aswell

Well I am a mud bogger not a crawler which I forgot to mention my bad so I guess for bogging what would be a better option? And i'll give the spark plugs a try are if that helps thank you
bogging is usually much higher RPM's id hit up turbo's and a cam with the quickness!
the down side with trying to put a turbo on a crawler is that it has to spool up the turbo to build up the pressure, but at low rpm's you've got to have it set to build that boost so fast its a pain in the *** to get it to sustain the power thru out the powerband, like being at full boost all times... little bit of a pain to achieve.
Where as with a bogger most times you go into it as quick as possible so you'd have that extra boost to really help push you thru the mud, having little to no traction and relying on the wheel speed to help pull you thru is going to make that turbo the best option for ya.
