Cherokee has no signals or dash lights
Hi, I'm new to this forum and I am hoping someone has a suggestions.
I have a 1988 Jeep cherokee that has a couple of problems
First All of a sudden the wipers have stopped working, no slow down or poor movement, just stopped working, I've tested the wipper connection at the motor and it is getting 12 volts but still doesn't seem to be working. I hope its not the motor but if it was the motor wouldn't I notice poor wipper action then the motor would slowly die? It just quit one day.
Second. I had the fuses looked at for any blown fuses and there are none however all of a sudden the dash and the turn signals (inside and outside) won't work. Is there other fuses I should look at?
Thanks for looking at my post.

Re: Cherokee has no signals or dash lights
If there is power at the motor, but it is not working.... check the ground, if that is good, replace motor. DC motors can "peter out", or just crap out.
Did you check the fuse box UNDER the hood? I had the same problem with my XJ. Found a blown fuse for the signal lights in the under hood box, and a blown light in my guage cluster. Start there.

My motor on a 98 cherokee crapped out after a month of working once in a while. it sorta timed to die in january :). I had to change it. bought a refurbished one for around 110$.
as mentioned above do check the ground and the fuses.

Re: Cherokee has no signals or dash lights
Check the fuses first since that's the easiest to do with a ohmsmeter because visually you can't always tell if a fuse is cooked or not for the dash lights and turn signals. You could have just got some water into the wiper motor and that could have made your wipers fail. Seals often dry up and start failing after twenty years of use.
