98 XJ speed woble problem
I have a 1998 XJ with a 5" lift with 33" super swampers.
The only aftermarket parts i have in my front end is the usual pitman arm, track bar and sway bar links.
My problem is that when I ride on the highways i get alot(more then normal) of vibrations and wobble in the steering wheel. My tires are all balanced and aligned and I can't seem to figure out whats causing it..
Last summer I rode with those tires and never had that problem, but when I put them on this summer I had all sorts of speed wobble and thats when i got my tires balanced and front end aligned but still i have problems.
if anyones got any ideas let me know,,, money is an issue!!!

Hey,
I would suggest the steering damper (looks like a shock) on the steering rods. I had the same problem this year when i put my summers (22's) and lookes under the truck to find the damper was dinged from all the fun i have on my winters.
Hope this helps

Well I changed my damper a couple months ago and its just OEM not aftermarket..
also I have a little bit of play in my steering so i was thinking it could be that too,,,,
its definitly a "death wobble"
I did some research on it and found a couple sites on death wobble troubleshooting
