Canada Re-introduction

Hey fella's

Had a '99 Wrangler TJ I bought for my son on the grounds he get and keep a job. Well he up and quit so I sold his TJ. Doubled my money so that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Liked the Jeep so much I wanted another but needed 4 doors for carpooling. Long story short I picked up an '07 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara last week.

This isn't the actual Jeep but it's identical. Will post pics when I get some.

Nice ride! That's the one I probably should have got.

Let us know what you think of it when you post pics.

Thnx for the welcome falla's. I'm still pretty new to Jeeps and hope to learn a lot from you fellas.

Sorry 'bout the quality. Crappy cell phone pics.

Color almost exactly matches my IROC! Coincidence eh?

Haven't had the truck for two weeks yet but we love it already. It certainly is a Wrangler but has a much nicer ride for everyday driving. It's stiff but stable. Plenty of room in the back for 6'+ carpoolers although an hour is about their limit. The seats keep you bolt upright which gets a little tiring after 100 kms or so. Front seats are great. The wife's 5'2" and can just barely use the clutch! Guess I'll be doin' most of the drivin'!

The MyGig stereo/nav kicks a$$. Definitely the best car stereo I've ever owned. Lots of gizmos and gadgets. I hope they all keep working! I added a few accessories this weekend, spare cover, bug deflector, door sill protectors and a billet cover over the gas tank cap. Got a few more on order, (O-F*ck) handles and the vent visors. Don't think I'll do much else to it, maybe a grill insert or mudflaps. We'll see how it goes.

It was snowing coming home tonight so I slipped it into 4WD. It stiffened up the steering and there was good feedback. Certainly instills confidence when it's slippery. Need to get some more seat time to get a real feel for what it can do. My last vehicle was a 4X4 so I'm familiar with that aspect but the Jeep definitely handles differently. I never got to drive the TJ in the winter so I have nothing else to compare it to.

Only on the the third tank of gas since I got it but it appears to be about 20% better mileage than the Jimmy. The sixth gear probably helps that quite a bit and I think the Jeep is lighter than the Jimmy. The Jimmy has a 4.3 lt automatic vs the 3.8 six speed in the Jeep.

Only a couple minor issues so far, the "Freedom Top" (hard top front part) leaks a little bit in the rain. There's a little bit of wind noise at highway speeds but that's to be expected I think. You're essentially driving a brick down the road!

Now that the snow is here I'm looking forward to getting out and seeing how well this thing behaves in the winter. So far so good.
