Default New guy from Montreal :)

Hi!!! First post here :) I don't own a jeep yet, but I'm looking into getting a Cherokee I used to have a 2008 Patriot North Edition 4x4, but I couldn't afford the monthly payments anymore. :( I'm looking into getting a XJ because I need room for my family (have a 17 months old boy) and I know that the aftermarket is very good for it. I would like to make it into a nice offroading / rock crawling machine. I've seen some nice ones at a Rock crawling event hosted by PJF4x4. (www.pjf4x4.com) I'm sure some of you know them.

Anyways, I hope I will have another jeep pretty soon, I kind of miss it and I'll miss it even more this winter.

P.S.: I also had a 2006 Liberty Limited before that, but the payments + gas was too much for me.....

Well, right now, my budget is kind of low (~500$), but I know that I'll have to buy one in very good condition so I'll be willing to go 3,500-4000$ by next summer.....I would just get one for the winter for now....So, what year would you suggest me to go with? I'm not picky as long as it looks decent to make it into a nice machine. :)

I'll put November 9th on my calendar and I'll come have a beer or 2 with you guys

You can always ask him, if you want. If it needs an inspection, then that won't be good.....Let me know :)

They would take 500 for it, and would have been due for registration in Jan 09 so its not 364 days yet this isn't a problem. They said they tried to start it but it didn't start probably needs a boost, I don't think anything major as they had it running a couple of months ago. I noticed a tire is low in air I have a portable compressor so thats not a problem. If ur interested get back to me send me a message to my profile on here

Alright so with Mr. White'e help, I found a cherokee that I like :) The only thing is it needs tires. I was going to buy some nice LT tires, but I just remembered that I have some 16 inch rims with winter tires from my patriot. (1 year old)

From what I know so far, the rims would fit no problem and the tire size has almost the same diameter. (0.4 inch smaller) The Patriot was running on 215/70R16. I have to go back to see the Jeep this weekend, so I'll bring one with me, but if you guys know for sure that it fits, that would save me 700$ for now :)

Thanks!!!

I found this on another website may be it will help some
My patriot has the 16" steel rims.

They have a rim width of 6.5" with a 5.5" backspacing.
The bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5".
I did not measure the hub diameter, but it is probably 71.5mm

I tried the 16" rims from the 98 Grand Cherokee I used to have and they fit on the back, but they did not clear the FRONT brake calipers

This is the concern I had talking to my friend a few mins ago, its the front calipers anyways the best and sure way is to try it. Sorry cannot be of more help

It's OK, thank you sir :) Like I said, I'll bring one over and try it in the front and back to make sure. I really hope it fits...
