New Guelph Liberty Owner
Hello All,
Purchased an 05 Jeep Liberty. I wanted a smaller SUV that I could take off-road. I lucked out with a fantastic sale from a Cambridge ON (Dec 08) dealership and have been enjoying it ever since!
I drove it though winter 08/09 since December on 4x4 Full-time and it handled perfectly.
Took it finally to Banckroft where I snowmobile and clocked over 5 hours of offroading over Saturday and Sunday.
The trails were fantastic! Managed to learn to travel over large rocks (ride 'em with your wheels and try not to bounce to introduce the rocks to your rocker-bar ). Rode over hills covered with thousands of smaller rocks and learned when to use the 4H to lock the differntials for traction. Used 4L quite often for steep grades and to let it control the speed of the Jeep. I realy was impressed with the 4L - though saw times when switching into it that it was actually in Neutral and not 4L;).
All this was learned as we went along the trails and thanks to web sites like these.

The only think I have planned for upgrades are the following:
Tow hooks (front and back) - thinking a nice junkyard for the parts
Armor for underneath
Tires - not full mudders as that is beyond my usage - but good enough for casual offroading and too cheap to by high range off roading tires (their life span is too short).
Looking forward to finding more local places to off road in Guelph - Waterloo - Grey Bruce areas if possible (that a non-moded Libby can go).
