Re: Hi y'all! New Jeeper from Brampton, ON
The auto rubi is pretty capable. You'll be very suprised at what it can do on the trails. Wait until the spring and I can get a couple other people together and get you out on some mild trails near bobcaygeon.
I saw that someone suggested going to the JK101 and I'd suggest staying as far away as possible from that. I went to it a couple of years ago to check it out and from what I've seen and other stories I've heard I would not recommend anyone going to it.
You'll learn much more meeting up with other people in the area and going out in a small group. The other option that you have is a couple of the large scale events that happen in the summer. Trailfest and Camp NL both offer guided trail runs from the mild to wild levels. The advantage of both these event is they offer a 101 course for new people where they will teach you a bit about the vehicle and how to drive it then take you on a trail. The next days you have the option to sign up for other guided trails.
I'd also suggest becoming a member of the OF4WD.
If you have any questiosn let me know. I'm the current president of the London & Area Jeep owners club. I'm also involved with the OF4WD and helping to start a new club in the Kawartha Area.
Regards

I won't be in no Rubicon (out of my price range) but in a month or two hopfully I'll have my Sport S with a 3.73 Axle Ratio. I wouldnt' say I am inexperienced offroading, but I've never done it before (sounds weird but it's the truth)
So i wouldn't mind participating in a few starter trails, some low stuff kinda see what i can do. Like to get into the muck of it and see the other rigs out there before i decide to start getting heavy into the performance mods.

Re: Hi y'all! New Jeeper from Brampton, ON
Your jeep will still be very capable even though it's not a rubi. You'll be surprised. There is nothing like seeing the shock on a new drivers face when they make it up or through something they don't think that they will be able to do. And you have the right idea on waiting to see what others have done. Other people will also be able to give you a good idea of what to do or not to do and the things they cose to do first. Some things are more important than others to most people. Everyone has their own idea of what they'd like their jeep to do. Just remember you'll be hooked when you start taking it off the pavement.

Looks like the Serial AND the VIN came in today, so it should be on the build process and be on the way. Dealer is working out a few really cool tid bits for me etc. I am very excited for this, I may even put up a Video on my Youtube Channel and go from there for sure.

jeepkings 101 is a great start for the non or less experienced enthusiust, they offer seminars and winching technics and yes trail rides, maybe they dont offer drinking and driving and all nite parties like the other 2 mentioned highly priced, overated, overpacked events. but you will get the family experience from 101,not the party your *** off all nite and try and find a guide in the morning for a trail run(most anyways).then when you get to go on a trail theres like 20 rigs(and yes i have seen it,so dont try and deny that). so in my conclusion if you had a bad experience why didnt you tell somebody about it untill now? from what i have seen and heard about jeepkings 101,it has been most pleasurable and a great learning experience that have attended.
best regards...not!!
