Hi from Montreal Area, 2012 JK
Hi everybody, this is my second Jeep. First one was a new Cherokee Country in 96 with the i6 HO. Back then it was our "family car" having 2 young kids and a camping trailer to tow.
It's the best vehicule we ever had, but 10 years later, it was getting old and we changed it for a 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara. It was more modern, smaller engine, but still getting the same MPG as the Cherokee, and not as capable off road and for towing. Now Suzuki closing in North America, it was time for a change.
Now the kids being almost on their own, I had the change to look after something more fun and went for Wrangler. I spotted a 2012 JK Sport with 16 000km for a good price and made the move on last Friday, installed a hitch, wiring and brake controller and now we are ready for fishing and camping.
Coming back home with it on Friday:

The Saturday morning went to pick our camping trailer that was stored for winter. First impression with the JK is that I could hardly feel the trailer behing and on the 40km I did with it behind, and I got 13.6 l/100km, better than with the Suzuki.

So I'm real happy and will need to look after Winter tires and a Hard Top in Automn.

Wonder why people buy a JEEP then get rid of it so early 16m nice low mileage and not raised so hasn't been offroaded. Bummer only 1 top, when ur ready to buy the hard top ck out our sponsors first, and the tires for the winter (as per what the law has the end of 2014 their supposed to make winter tires compulsory in quebec) so the LT just might not be acceptable there are a few brands with the new snow flake something to look into. Welcome to the Forum nice jeep.

It must have seen some offroad, looking at some scratches under the front and rear bumpers, crushed exhaust tip, plastic panel under front bumper gone and with the Firestone Destination on it. But cannot say up to which degree.
I'm not sure yet if I will need to raise it. Where I usually go fishing, going with care, the Cherokee was able to make it, the JK having already better angles should make it easier, I'll see, I may be tempted to go further away.
Up to now by itself it looks like I'm getting 11.4 l/100km on highway and around 15 l/100km around town, pretty much what I was expecting. Not better but surprisingly not worst that my two previous SUVs.
