Exclamation Hello!

Hi everyone. My name is Matt and and I hail from Manitoba. I am new to the forum, but not to Jeeps and the unique culture they have surrounding them. My first rig was (dont hate me, I was 16) a 1989 YJ with such gems as a 4.2L motor and Peugeot trans. It also had 33's sitting on an awesome improperly lifted suspension that ate U-joints every 6 months. I went through alot of parts, money and heartache with that Jeep, but after I sold it I swore to return eventually. Jeeps were in my blood. Fast-forward to late 2009, and I have bought myself a 2005 Rubicon. Incredible rig. Haven't wheeled it to much, and it's never been to anything intense, but so far she has been bulletproof. I'm more or less a camping and adventure guy, not a crawler. I'm on here looking for tips, advice and knoledge. I have already started working on my rig, and its been a great process. I try doing most of the work myself, only relying on a shop when its absolutely necessary.

Glad to be on here!

Matt

^^Classic!!^^ Welcome vfr86.

Many won't agree, but I suggest driving it for a while before doing anything major.

Take it on some serious test drives to anywhere you ever realistically expect to go and see how it does.

It's the best way I know of to determine what mods my Jeep really needs.

Depending on where you go you may be fine just the way you are, especially in a Rubicon. In which case you can spend your lift and tire money on maintenance & dancing girls !
